Communicating during a crisis

In March, as the COVID-19 public health crisis expanded rapidly in King County, the University of Washington acted quickly and decisively, becoming the first university in the nation to move all classes online. At first, the plan was to finish out the winter quarter, then it became clear it was necessary to extend the response through spring quarter as well, which ends June 12.

The School of Social Work needed to communicating these changes to its community quickly and accurately. We helped create a series of web pages that not only conveyed the latest information, but in ways that resonated with issues important to social workers, such as ensuring a safe and equitable learning environment and how to report acts of discrimination.

We continue to update the School of Social Work’s website as new information about COVID-19 is shared with students, faculty and staff.
